The website of the Avicultural Society of NSW (ASNSW) has been developed over a number of years since our first website was uploaded to the World Wide Web in April 1999. The purpose of the ASNSW website is to provide public access to information relating to the experiences of our members and others in the field of aviculture since the first example of an Australian species in aviculture, the Rainbow Lorikeet, was captured in New South Wales and taken as a cage bird on Cook's voyage back to Britain.
