Personal information collected by "The Avicultural Society of New South Wales Inc."
(hereinafter referred to as "the Society").

The Society is subject to the provisions of the Privacy Act 1988 (as amended) which regulates how your personal information is handled.  The Society has a commitment to safeguarding the personal information of all its members including life members, members, associate members and junior members, and any other person who provides personal information to the Society.

Basic personal information collected by the Society from its members is necessary for membership purposes.  New and existing members are required to fill in a membership form either on line on this website or by printing the PDF formatted form provided and filling it in to be mailed to the Society with their payment of an annual membership fee.  A membership form may also be requested by new or existing members by mail.

Any personal information provided by you to the Society (e.g. name, address, date of birth and contact details) including any additional optional information provided by you that allows the Society to provide for the needs of its members, will also be protected.

Your personal information, including information about you obtained as a result of you providing the Society with your your personal information and particular interests and years of experience in aviculture, may be used by the Society to improve Society meetings and other Society activities in relation to the interests of all the Society's members, and to provide you with our bi-monthly magazine and the latest information about your Society and other information relevant to aviculture.  If you do not wish to receive this information, the Society, on request, will remove your name from mailing lists.

It is not the practise of the Society to disclose your personal information to any other organisation, authority or person unless there is a legal or health and safety compliant reason for doing so.

You have a right to access any personal information that the Society may hold about you, including a right of correction of your information.
